The Women of Paddling

The Berkshire chapter is blessed to have many strong female leaders within its volunteer ranks. This year, two of our officers are women (our vice chair and our treasurer), and women lead our Bicycling, Outings, and Paddling committees. In fact, the chapter’s paddling operation has recently been revitalized thanks to the enthusiastic leadership of three amazing women: Mary Therese Durr, Bonna Wieler, and Dee Dice.

Paddling is a fun and exciting activity. You want to be out on the water more. But how do you pick the right boat for you? This how-to article focuses on the selection of a boat and the different factors that go into the decision-making, including: location, materials, and size. In the last section of this article, there is a list of a few different boat options with their specifics.
