The Berry Song at Noble View

The Berry Song features a recurring "song" or chant listing various berries as a girl and her grandmother forage on their ancestral land in Southeast Alaska. It celebrates Indigenous values of gratitude and a reciprocal relationship with nature, where people sing to the land as the land sings to them. So bundle up the kids and come on up to beautiful Noble View and read the story as you walk the one-mile trail through the woods. And if there's snow on the ground, bring your sleds for some sledding on the hill near Double Cottage. After turning onto the access road off South Quarter Road, drive about a half mile to the parking lot. The All Persons Trail starts there. Happy hiking and reading!
